Recovery Rate of Malnourished Children in Zaria, Nigeria

Data are presented on the recovery rate of children suffering from Protein Energy Malnutrition. Lack of formal education in the mother, large family size (≥4) and low income were the main risk factors for malnutrition. Recovery was monitored by a variety of methods, and methods based on standard scores for age group and mean weight gain per kg body weight per day are recommended.
