The Status of Child Health

HELEN M. WALLACE, MD, MPH, Professor and Chairman Maternal and Child Health Division

Graduate School of Public Health, San Diego State University San Diego, California

It seems clear from this review that much higher priority in national planning and in the allocation of national resources needs to be given to the total position and health status of mothers, children, and youth. The position and education of women throughout the world need considerable improvement. Children represent the future of the world. We have sufficient knowledge to improve the health of children and to fully implement the UN Rights of the Child.
