Neisseria meningitidis infection in children can present either as acute fulminant infection or as chronic infection. It can also present as endocarditis. The association of acute or subacute N.meningitidis infection with endocarditis is, however, not well documented. We report a 3-year-old Omani girl with meningococcaemia and endocarditis caused by N.meningitidis who subsequently developed Staphylococcus aureus superinfection of the skin lesions and septicaemia.
