Integrated Family Planning Activities in Maternal and Child Health Centres in Cap Bon, Tunisia
1. Methodology and Results
Projet Tuniso-Belge de Médecine Intégrée au Cap Bon B.P. 10, Nabeul, Tunisia
Laboratory of Social Medicine and Epidemiology, Medical Faculty, Université Libre de Bruxelles Brussels, Belgium
An integrated program of child health care and family planning is described in Cap Bon, Tunisia. The experience shows that child health care is a good base for setting up family planning activities. A high rate of acceptance and a much better continuity rate are obtained, as well as a lower average age of starting contraception. The scheme put forward can be reproduced throughout the country because it is conceived in view of the local health facilities.
