A Study on Immunisation Status of Children in 1,000 Family Planning Adopted Families

One thousand families who had adopted temporary or permanent family planning methods in Tirupati town (Urban area) were studied. This study showed that every family is conscious of family planning and the welfare of their children. Cent percent coverage was observed as far as Smallpox vaccination is concerned in children of these families. The vaccinations with B.C.G., D.P.T. and Polio were not satisfactory.

The percentages are as follows:

B.C.G...57.2 per cent

D.P.T... 10.7 per cent

Polio... 81.5 per cent
